SPIKE's Story

Spike
Age 2, 15lbs Mini Poodle
Neutered Male

Do you want a super cuddly low energy dog?? If yes, then he is NOT for you! This dog needs someone that will not let him jump into your lap, will use a crate, will set boundaries and wont let him run the house but will take him for walks daily.

MUST HAVE DOG EXPERIENCE FIRST TIME DOG OWNERS WILL BE DENIED.

He is very puppy like and does nipping but he's extremely easy to stop. He has a lot of energy and loves to play and run around

He knows "drop it", "sit", "down" "crate", and "enough/no" "yes/clicker training" so he's been extremely easy to train but needs someone willing to train him and not let him walk all over you. He's a very smart boy that wants to be told what to do.

**House and crate trained! but will mark if there is an area that already has pee on it
**Attaches to his people easily, loves to be with his foster mom and greets all new people with happiness
**Good with other dogs, but can resource guard so must feed separately and play separately as he will guard food and his things but he loves to play and does respect my senior dogs boundaries
**Lets you groom him but I use a muzzle to ensure he wont get snippy

He is active and while he loves to cuddle, he's not a couch potato. We play, we hike, we rollerblade and then we rest. He sleeps through the night and using a crate/playpen is required as he has a hard time napping without it and will continue to prevent separation anxiety

He will be a foster to adopt and YOU MUST be willing to do weekly sessions with his foster. He has been returned twice for biting on week three when they let him run the house but has never once shown aggression to his foster who he has been with for over two weeks and will stay with her for a full 3/4 weeks to ensure he is fully trained and ready for his next home. If you are not willing to work with the foster and provide updates and do sessions together then do not apply.

Head over to instagram page @posofosterfamily to see a highlight of him with lots more videos and photos

He's fully medically cleared and healthy! (up to date on shots, neutered, 4dx testing neg, fecal neg)

Will need monthly grooming so make sure you have the time and budget for that.
