Spike's Story

Spike may be a little shy when you first meet him, but give him a minute and you’ll start to see his sweet personality peek through. Once he decides you’re his person, that’s it, you’re stuck with him in the best possible way. His favorite move? Gentle little nose boops that are basically impossible to resist.

Like any growing pup, Spike loves his toys and a good chew treat. He gets along great with other dogs and couldn’t care less about cats. Squirrels, however... those are highly suspicious and absolutely need to be chased, just in case.

Spike is fully potty trained and does well in a kennel, though he would strongly prefer not to be in one if he had a say in the matter. He’d much rather be hanging out with his people or playing with his dog friends.

He’s a gentle, sensitive boy who just needs a little patience and reassurance to feel confident. Once he does, you’ll have a loyal shadow who thinks you’re the greatest thing on earth.

At around 6 months old and already 50 lbs, Spike is going to be a big, handsome boy. His mom is a purebred Doberman, and we suspect dad may have been either a local German Shepherd mix or possibly a Golden Retriever... so yes, you’re getting a whole lot of good dog in one package.

Spike earned his name after arriving with porcupine quills, and despite that less-than-ideal introduction, he’s proven to be nothing but soft, sweet, and full of love.

📍 Located in Lewiston, Idaho

If you’re looking for a loyal companion with just the right mix of sweetness, goofiness, and a tiny bit of attitude about squirrels, Spike might be your guy.
