For a young dog of her size and breed mix, that's pretty remarkable.

Like any giant-breed puppy, Sorcha is still learning her manners. She'll need a family committed to continuing her training, helping her build confidence, and teaching her how to navigate the world as the large, enthusiastic puppy she is. The good news? She's eager to learn and genuinely wants to make her people happy.

Sorcha has all the ingredients to become an incredible lifelong companion. She simply needs someone willing to invest a little time into helping her become the amazing adult dog she's already showing signs of being.

If you're looking for a loyal best friend who will grow right alongside your family, Sorcha may be exactly who you've been waiting for.

If You're Thinking About Adopting Me, I Think You Should Know

I'm still a puppy...just a really BIG one! I'm learning that new people aren't so scary, and every day I become a little more confident. I love to play, I love my toys, and once I know you, I'll be your biggest fan. I'll need someone willing to continue my training and help me grow into the gentle giant I know I can be. I promise I'll make every bit of that effort worth it.

Important Adoption Information and Next Steps

All animals adopted through the Oswego County SPCA (OCAWL) are:

* Spayed or neutered
* Up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations
* Microchipped prior to adoption
* Cats are FeLV/FIV tested, and dogs are heartworm tested (if age-appropriate)
* Cared for in loving foster homes; they are not housed in a shelter environment

Our adoption process includes:

* A thorough application review to ensure the best match for both animal and adopter
* Veterinary reference verification (when applicable)
* Adoption fees that help cover veterinary care, food, and rescue operations so we can continue saving animals throughout Oswego County

To apply to adopt, please visit www.oswegocountyspca.org and complete our adoption application.

After Submitting Your Application:

Please make sure you have notified your veterinarian that we will be calling and that it is okay to speak with us. If you do not currently have a vet, please determine which one you will be using and set up care in advance so we can confirm your new pet will receive medical attention when needed.

For Pets Already in the Home:

Because the number of homeless animals in our area is so large, we adopt only to homes where current pets are spayed or neutered, with documented medical exceptions.
