Smitty Pit Bull Terrier & Pointer Mix Oklahoma City, OK

Smitty is a laid-back, lovable guy who loves to play with other dogs and just be part of the family. He is a pointer/terrier mix that weighs about 55lbs and is full grown as he is almost 1.5yrs old. Smitty was brought into the shelter when he broke with parvo as a puppy but he is healthy and happy now!

Smitty LOVES other dogs so he would do best in a home with at least one other dog close to his size for him to play with. He currently lives in a foster home with a female dog who is also pointer mix. Smitty is wonderful on a leash and crate trained. His foster mom has a doggie door and he uses it with no problems although he is crated while she is out. He also runs/walks well on a hands-free leash so he would be a good running buddy to keep you company. He is not food or toy aggressive and gets along with other dogs with no issues. However, he is not a fan of cats. Smitty is hesitant when meeting new people so his foster mom is working with him on this to show him how to be more confident.

Smitty loves to hang out in the backyard with his foster sister or lay next (or on top!) of you on the couch while watching TV. He also loves sleeping and snuggling in the bed at night. Watch out for his kisses...he loves the ears!

He is very treat driven and knows how to sit on command. He would love to learn even more! He would do best in a yard with a 6ft fence although his foster mom has reported no jumping issues to date. We are not sure how Smitty would do around kids because he has never been around any. He also does excellent on car rides.

Smitty is neutered, microchipped, on heartworm and flea/tick prevention, and current on his vaccines. His adoption fee is $150.
