Skye's Story
Skye is a sweet, social, and affectionate puppy who truly wants to be part of everything. She loves her people deeply, enjoys the company of other dogs, and has never met a cuddle she didn't like. After some playtime, she's happiest curled up beside you for snuggles, especially cozy “contact cuddles” before bed.

She has a playful but manageable energy level and absolutely lights up around other dogs. Rope toys, tug-of-war, carrying sticks around the yard, and playful walks alongside dog friends are some of her favorite things. She walks very nicely on leash and has an adorable prancing stride, though when paired with another playful dog she can get a little excited and eager to interact.

Skye has some separation anxiety and would do best in a home where someone is around more often, another playful dog is present, or where she can regularly have social outlets. She forms strong attachments and can become vocal when left completely alone for long periods or separated from her favorite dog companion. The good news is she has already shown improvement over time as she gains confidence and routine.

She's an incredibly smart puppy who already knows “sit,” is learning “come,” and has made wonderful progress with potty training. She uses the doggy door independently, signals when she needs to go out, and sleeps through the night quietly in her kennel as long as she gets a morning potty break. She also does very well in the home with free roam privileges while supervised and has not been destructive.

Skye has lived successfully with both dogs and cats. She may be shy initially with new dogs, but once she settles in, her playful and loving personality comes through quickly. Loyal, attentive, curious, and deeply affectionate, Skye is the kind of puppy who wants to be someone's best friend and constant companion.

This pup was rescued from a high kill shelter in Texas.

Meet and greets are by appointment only. An approved application is required to schedule a meeting. Check out our events page for upcoming open adoption events!

We have no additional back story or update for this dog at this time. When we do, it will be updated here. This is all the information we have currently.

Approved Applicants may make the adoption fee payment by clicking donate above. Partial adoption fees will not hold a dog.
If upon meeting the dog of your choosing at your scheduled pickup time you find that you aren't a good match, your deposit will be fully refunded.
Adoption fees include vaccines up until time of adoption, microchip, spay/neuter and 1st 30 days of free pet insurance. We are not affiliated with MetLife pet insurance. (you have to sign up for the insurance or it will not go into effect). Adoption fees help cover the medical care of the animals while he or she waits for a new home, as well as food and transportation costs. These fees help to provide care for the other animals in the shelter or rescue group who may have medical bills that are much higher than any possible adoption fee. The money also acts as a donation to help support the organization as a whole, allowing the group to continue its efforts to rescue and rehome pets.
The dogs in our care are fostered in Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico. While all dogs are picked up during our scheduled times, sometimes transport dates change due to unforeseen circumstances.
More questions?
