Sissy Labrador Retriever Mix Brunswick, ME

Sissy and her sister lived in the woods in survival mode for at least a month. Sissy must have been the caretaker of the two because she was a lot more cautious of people. Rarely coming far from the edge of the woods only to run back to safety at the sight of people, it took a lot of patience and two and a half weeks to be able to feed her from my hand. After that it took another two weeks to catch her and bring her to a safe place that she no longer had to fear for her daily survival. With bb's in her earlobes it is obvious that she has some untold stories.

After 2 more weeks of adjusting to people and other animals- Sissy's personality started to bloom. She loves to play with other dogs - but does better with male dogs from my observation. She doesn't seem to mind cats but did learn from experience it's best to walk around them!

Sissy isn't completely house training but she is trying as long as you keep her on a potty schedule. She is used to running free and not fond of a leash. She enjoys car rides... once you get her in there.

She absolutely loves to play and snuggle on the sofa but she may take some patience and time to warm up to a new environment since she is still unsure of people. She knows her name but is a quick learner should her new owner want to change it She is learning to like toys, like a ball but doesn't yet know what to do with it. She needs a lot of love and kindness since her confidence in people needs more confirmation that not all people are mean. She will make someone a loyal, loving companion once she knows she belongs.
