She is an adorable 5-year-old female Shih Tzu breeder release who is experiencing freedom and comfort for the first time in a foster home. She is doing so well! <br/><br/>A confident mentor dog in the home will be required to help show her the way. <br/><br/>FOSTER UPDATE: We have had little Sigrid for just over a week. What we have learned:<br/><br/>- She is the biggest cuddle bug ever! <br/>- She is pretty petite at just 12 lbs.<br/>- She can still be a bit skittish but she is so much farther along than most of our previous breeder release mamas.<br/>- She is doing well with house-training! It is very early but she has done 95% of her business outside and if she didn’t it was most likely our fault!<br/>- She takes treats gently.<br/>- She loves a short walk a couple times a day and she does super well on a leash.<br/>- She is very calm.<br/>- Sigrid does not tolerating being crating at all right now while we are gone for any length of time. <br/>- The good news is that she has done super well being gated on our bedroom (her safe space if I am gone or not with her). NO accidents!!<br/>- She does bark. Not a lot but she barks at reflections in windows and noises mostly at night right now.<br/>- She wants to be where you are. <br/>- She slept in the human bed and loves it. She jumps up herself.<br/>- She does stairs and doorways without any issues!<br/>- She loves other dogs. She would do best with another doggie companion<br/>- While we would love a fence for her, I am not sure it is necessary. It may be situation dependent. <br/>- She is very curious and a smartie. She has mastered stairs already!<br/>- Sigrid loves her foster mama. She is ok with foster dad. She follows me everywhere right now, no matter how far I go away from her. Since I do most of her care, this isn’t surprising. <br/><br/>We ADORE this little girl. We can not adopt to families with children under the age of six. We also only adopt in WI, IL, and parts of MN. We do not guarantee dog breeds.<br/>WI License #270548.
