Scout's Story

Scout is an almost 6-month-old sweetheart who is still learning that the world isn’t such a scary place. He can be nervous and timid at first, but give him a little time and patience, and you’ll see his true personality shine. Once he settles in, Scout turns into the biggest cuddle bug and just wants to be close to his person.

Scout is on a journey of learning to trust. It’s a work in progress, but he’s making great strides every day. With the right home—one that offers consistency, patience, and love—he’s going to continue growing into a confident, happy companion.

He’s still very impressionable, so he will need time to adjust, some training, and a family committed to helping him succeed. Scout is a mix of Shih Tzu and Miniature Poodle, which means regular professional grooming is not optional—it’s an essential part of his care.

Scout has been around other dogs and children without any issues, and we believe, with proper introductions, time, and guidance, he would likely adjust well to cats too.

Scout is currently awaiting his neuter, so he isn’t quite ready to head home yet—but that doesn’t mean we aren’t looking for his perfect match!

Applications are required for Scout, and all meet-and-greets will be scheduled to ensure he isn’t overwhelmed and that every interaction is calm and positive for him, our staff, and our other animals.

We kindly ask for patience as our team reviews applications, makes necessary calls, and carefully matches Scout with the best possible home. We know how exciting a cute, fluffy puppy can be—but finding the right home is always our priority.

Scout is waiting for someone special to show him the love and security he deserves.

We do not hold available/adoptable animals as we are a first come first serve facility. However, we do place animals in homes that are best fitting for that animal. If you rent, please supply your landlord's information as we cannot adopt until we speak to them directly or have something in writing approving the animal(s) allowed. If you are interested in us matching you with a forever pet, please fill out an adoption questionnaire below for us to know a little bit more about you! Please keep in mind we do require vet checks and meet and greets with other dogs in the home. It normally takes 30 + minutes for the adoption process.
