Scout's Story

Scout is a typical, handsome mini dachshund. He has random outbursts of energy, followed by several hours of napping until he's ready to play again! He can't think of anything better than playing fetch, although eating and sleeping are tied for second place. He will play fetch until you're tired and then he'll try to convince you to play just a little more.

Scout is 3 years old. He's potty trained, has nice house manners, is great in his crate, and good on a leash. He's very athletic and likes to show off his skills. Scout is deaf and is learning to communicate with hand signs.

Scout does not love the idea of being around other dogs. He would prefer being the only dog in the home with someone who doesn't leave him alone all day. We know he's going to become a loving pup, and to get there he will need someone willing to offer him lots of patience and socialization. He sure would like lots of walks and lots of fetch.

No young kids, please. Scout requires a physical, fenced yard. This good-looking guy is being fostered in the St. Louis area.

Please fill out an application at: https://www.speakrescue.com/pre-adoption-form
