Our Mission
Speak! Rescue and Sanctuary is a 501(c)3 foster-based Australian Shepherd and Border Collie rescue specializing in double merle awareness. We are passionate about helping all Aussies and Border Collies, including those born with hearing and vision impairments as a result of merle to merle breeding.
When two merle pattern dogs are bred together, each puppy has a 25% chance of being born deaf, blind, or both. We are committed to raising awareness of the impairments caused by this unnecessary breeding practice in breeds that carry the merle pattern gene.
Speak! Rescue and Sanctuary strives to help these special needs dogs live happy, healthy, and normal lives.
