Sammie 's Story
Sammie was adopted from our rescue back in 2011. He was a loved and cherished pet but over the years his family dynamic changed. He found himself left at a municipal animal shelter recently when his dad passed away and his mom was moved into assisted living. We heard he was there and grabbed him and brought him back into rescue as quickly as we could. A shelter is no place for any animal, much less a distinguished old fellow like Sammie.
Sammie is a neutered male, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and other than the usual senior dog aches and pains is in good health. He has quite a bit of pep in his step for a fella that is just about 16 years old. He does well in the car and on a leash. He is fine around other dogs. He has few teeth left, so Sammie prefers to feast on wet food. He maintains his youthful weight of 18ish pounds.
Sammie is a good dog that once enjoyed having a doting family. It is heartbreaking that he has lost so much so quickly. He deserves another wonderful family to spend his twighlight years with. He will absolutely fill your heart.
Sammie's adoption fee is $95 even though he's worth is weight in gold. If you would like to share your couch with this mature heartthrob, please fill out an adoption application here: https://www.emailmeform.com/builder/form/yGn8pq5gvZP2FLUc2279
Unfortunately, we don't receive any communications sent through the Petfinder website, so the only way to be considered for adoption is to fill out the adoption questionnaire linked above or found on our website at www.sanctuaryrescue.com
