Ryder's Story

Ryder came to us from Illinois Doberman Rescue after being discovered in the barn where he was born. Having very little human contact early in life, he was understandably shy, unsure, and overwhelmed by the world around him. After arriving here, he was in a foster home to give him a break from the shelter and made progress there!

With time, patience, and a gentle approach, he has learned that people can be safe and kind. Once he trusts you, this sweet boy would happily cuddle with you all day if given the chance. He loves snuggling close and settling in for pets. He has also started playing with toys, showing off playful zoomies, wagging his tail, and trotting around the room with growing confidence.

Ryder is incredibly smart, observant, and eager to learn.

Ryder will need a patient adopter who is committed to slow, positive confidence-building. He would thrive in a calm, understanding home that will continue meeting him where he is, celebrating the small victories, and letting him move at his own speed.

This special boy has already come so far. Now he just needs a forever family to help him continue blossoming!
