Meet Rufus!<br/><br/>Rufus is a male, poodle/australian shepherd mix, 4.5 years old and about 65 pounds! He has really come into his own! He is such a smart boy and quick learner! He gets a lot of satisfaction from praise alone, and that helps redirect him when he may be overstimulated or overexcited. He is a sweet, sensitive boy who does best with a routine! He loves playing fetch, although still working on actually giving the ball back. He loves meeting people on outings and walks, but can get a little nervous if a first introduction happens in his home. He does great on his leash and is working on “stranger danger”, but once gets comfy with you is an absolute love bug. He is very smart and eager to please! <br/><br/>With some consistency, training, and love Rufus is really growing so much! He has improved more and more each day! He absolutely adores other dogs and he is just fantastic with them! Fun fact: He loves apples and having brush time! He really loves to be pet on the side more than his head and is getting braver each day! <br/><br/>He is up to date on vaccinations and monthly preventatives, neutered, heartworm negative, and microchipped. His adoption fee is $375. We require that all adopters, regardless of the dog’s age, are committed to ongoing training and socialization as part of responsible ownership. We conduct a vet reference check (all resident dogs must be altered/up to date on dhpp/rabies and monthly preventatives) and a virtual home visit call where we discuss the adoption process and see your home.
