Update on Ruby!

Ruby Roo is still in the board and train facility.

She has been doing well in her training. Ruby has gotten to the point where she is now non-reactive to dogs when walking past them or if she sees them from a distance. This is a major improvement. The trainers will be introducing her to other dogs more close up this coming week, to see how things go. We think tho, that for now she would still need to be in an only pet home.

They are teaching her lots there and helping her be the best version of herself she can be. Ruby is a very smart girl.

She is also an incredibly sweet girl to people! She lived at the end of the chain prior to coming into rescue. And she just soaks up all the love and attention she can from her human friends.

Ruby is starting to lose hope that she will ever find her people. Please, please give this girl a chance. She has to be an only pet.... No cats or dogs. She lived her former life at the end of a chain, and she doesn't share well. We know there is the perfect family for her out there. She is super sweet with people.

Ruby (Aka RooRoo/Roo) is looking to find her furever home. This girl truly is such a sweetheart. She is the girl that we rescued off a chain. She is such a delight. If you met her, you surely would love her.

Pits/mixes usually get that "aggressive" tag added to them, but with this girl you have NO worries!

She's cautious at first, almost to stand behind you to go meet someone new, but then when you give her the OK, her tail is just a wagging for a new person to love on her. ??

She's new to toys, but enjoys carrying them around and flaunt she's got something you don't. This goes for treats as well.

Potty training I’d say is 99%, she does head for the door to go "potty" but she, if you are not behind her, does not know how to alert you, so hopefully soon she will use the "door knob bell" training method. She’s very smart, so I have no worries, she will quickly grasp this and will be ringing her bell to go out.

She does awesome in the car, she jumps right in and sits patiently the whole ride, watching out the window.

Leash walking- She does pull on the leash initially but once on it and going, she's more of a sniffer, and walks fine.

Roo is 2 years old, 45-50 lbs. and is now completely vetted.

We do all of our adoptions as a foster-to-adopt. This works great for our dogs and for everyone interested in adopting. It helps to ensure it’s a good fit for everyone, human and canine. Once your foster application has been approved, we will schedule a meet and greet. Then she will come home with you for a 3 week trial (or longer if needed). If all goes well, adoption will be finalized at that point.

Ruby is coming back to rescue. We need a foster home for her.

Things didn’t work out for her in her adoptive home. She started resource guarding with the other dog in the home and eventually it led to a fight. Previously living on a chain (prior to rescue), and now having things that are “valuable” to her, she is afraid she is going to lose them and not have them again, so she has become very protective of them. She needs to be in a home as the ONLY pet. We know it limits the homes that she can be in, but we hope to find just the right fit for her soon. She is a sweet girl and doing well otherwise. She just needs to be an only pet.

Ruby is completely vetted. She is 2 years old. About 50 lbs.
