Recommended Environment: Ruben is a typical hound; he loves to follow his nose! His family is going to need to take him on walks and hikes and patiently wait while he smells everything. We are not requiring a fenced in yard, but he would love to have one to spend time in. He is a smart dog and will benefit from obedience training. He is good on a leash and is learning his commands. Ruben needs to be in a home with another dog. He will bark in his crate when left alone so we don't feel that he will do well in an apartment.
Additional Information: Ruben and his mom Belle were found as strays in rural West Virginia. He is a very sweet and snuggly boy. The pictures don't do him justice; he is a handsome dog. Ruben is a little anxious due to all the changes in his life. We know he will come out of his shell once he is in his forever home and is given a chance to blossom into the wonderful dog that he is.
