Roxy's Story

Roxy is available for adoption in Orange County!

This scruffy girl joined us from the island of Kauai after spending 2 months sitting in an overcrowded shelter. At just 7 months of age, she weighs 30lbs. We are guessing she's some sort of Airedale/Irish terrier mix, likely with some hound (but we aren't 100% sure, those are just our best guesses!).

Roxy is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and current on her flea/tick/HW medication.

This little gal is so sweet and friendly! She has yet to meet a stranger. She loves other dogs (although she's not the biggest fan of having them invade her space when she's eating), and playtime with her foster pup brothers and sisters is one of her favorite things. She would do just fine as an only dog though! She rides well in the car, sleeps through the night in her crate, is ok with being left alone for a few hours at a time in her crate during the day as long as she's had some exercise first, and is housebroken in her foster home. She also loves to play in water!

Roxy is good with calm kids that approach respectfully and slowly She can be a bit afraid of more energetic kids who come at her quickly.

She is super smart, food motivated, and LOVES training! She is high energy and will walk/run to the end of the earth with you, so she would do best in an active home that can get her plenty of exercise while continuing to work with her on her training. Physical and mental stimulation will be important for her!

Like most younger pups, it's not uncommon for her to chew or get into things she shouldn't (watch out for your shoes!), but she does respond very well to correction and redirection if you give her something more appropriate to entertain herself with.

She's going to be an absolutely incredible dog for a very lucky family. If you think you could be the furever home Roxy is looking for, please fill out an adoption application on our website!
