Rosie-Rosebud's Story

Hi! I’m Rosie! I’m 9 years old and weigh 21lbs. Everyone who meets me says I’m a total sweetheart, and I’ll make you smile all day long!

I get along great with other dogs, and am highly social - as long as the dogs are well socialized, we will get along great! Cats and kids, though, are not for me. I’ve never been around either and they make me nervous, so I want to chase them down! Not a good situation for any of us!

But I really, really love people. I love to snuggle on the couch or in bed just as much as I love taking walks. I currently walk two times a day with my foster family for 1-1.5 miles each time. I would LOVE to be your walking buddy.

I’m also a super smart girl, which can get me in a little trouble! I can open my crate by myself, and now my mom has to use an extra latch to keep me safe in there. I can open doors and gates, so I’m what the rescue calls a “high flight risk,” I just love mischief! But it could be unsafe for me to get out, so it’s important that I be kept safe and secure and that my family is very mindful of this.

I’m house trained and mostly crate trained. Like I said, I can get out of my crate, but I can also be trusted to be left out in the house for short periods of time. I’d do best with someone who works from home so I can be near them all day. Plus then we can take walks when they need a break!

Here's a little more about me:
Housetrained? Yes
Leash-trained? Yes
Rides well in a car? Yes
Good with other dogs? Yes
Good with cats? No
Good with young children? No
Good with strangers? Yes
Shy or confident? Confident
Apartment Friendly? No, I like to have time outside in my yard in addition to my walks. As well occasionally I bark!

To apply to adopt Rosie, please visit our website at: CLbostonterrierrescuefoundation.org

CL Boston Terrier Rescue Foundation's Adoption Policy
Our policies are stringent- and we do not approve every application. An extensive application is the first step to be considered. We do not adopt to homes with children under 6 yrs of age. We do in home visits -interview with the entire family- check out their home and yard. We call the Vets office for a reference to see what type of owner they have been with pets in the past and care they have provided. No dogs are allowed to be adopted into homes that have any unaltered pets. We require and adoption contract- and if for any reason it does not work out there is a clause stating the dog must be returned to the rescue. We match the dogs with a family that is the best possible fit for the dogs needs. There are no exceptions to any of the above -
