Rory's Story

Rory is the kind of dog that reminds you what rescue is truly about.

At 7 years old, this sweet boy is looking for a family with a genuine rescue heart — the kind of family that understands that sometimes the dogs who need the most love give the most love in return.

After spending years living in a kennel, Rory deserves a soft place to land for the rest of his life. Our dream for him is simple: a home where he never has to spend another day in a crate and where he’s surrounded by love, comfort, and companionship nearly all of the time.

Rory is incredibly sweet, gentle, and loving. He adores children and does wonderfully with other friendly dogs who have a calmer personality. He’s happiest curled up beside his people, soaking in all the affection he’s missed for far too long.

Rory does have a heart murmur and takes daily medication to help manage it, but that doesn’t stop him from enjoying life. We simply want his remaining years to be filled with peace, kindness, belly rubs, cozy naps, and the unconditional love every dog deserves.

Rory is mostly potty trained, but he may still have an occasional accident. We know the perfect family for him will understand that accidents happen and will meet him with patience, grace, and love — never scolding. Rory has already been through enough in his life, and now he deserves a home where he is accepted exactly as he is.

He’s not looking for perfection. He’s looking for someone willing to love him exactly as he is.

And we promise — Rory will love you right back with his whole heart.

IMPORTANT ADOPTION INFORMATION

The dog you are considering is located in South Mississippi, with transport available (for an additional fee) to approved adopters in the Northeast. Virtual meet-and-greets are performed prior to adoption.

Completing an application is the only way to receive a response from our small rescue team.

Submitting an application does NOT commit you to adoption—it simply begins the conversation about whether this dog is the right fit for your family.
_______________________________________________________________________
Apply here: www.animalaidms.org/adopt
_______________________________________________________________________

If your application is approved and you are a great match, we will follow up with a phone call. We may also reach out about other dogs in our care who could be a wonderful fit for your family.
_______________________________________________________________________

Due to limited volunteer staffing, we are UNABLE TO REPLY TO PETFINDER inquiries and INCOMPLETE applications will not reach us.

________________________________________________________________________
Follow us on social media:

Facebook: Animal AID of Mississippi

Instagram: @animalaidms
