Rocket Siberian Husky & Husky Mix Seville, OH

Rocket, the severely emaciated, seven month old husky, surrendered to us in July, is finally ready for adoption. Rocket came into rescue with three intestinal blockages and two intussusceptions. He required two surgeries and a week long stay at the Stark County ER.

There was a washcloth and, what appeared to be a tube sock, stretched through his stomach, pyloris and into his intestines. As a result of his intestines working so hard to try to pass the material along, Rocket also had two intussusceptions. It is a miracle that Rocket survived, he was pretty close to checking out on life, by the time he came into rescue with Kaleidoscope K9s. Many thanks to Stark County Dog Warden, John Barber for telling Rocket's owner to reach out to Kaleidoscope K9s and, to let us know that Rocket was sick and in trouble. Many thanks to Ramona Hartleben for fostering Rocket for us through his first few weeks post surgery.

Based on Rocket's stomach contents, behavior and overall condition, we believe he lived in a basement; his eyes were unaccustomed to light and, he had no potty manners whatsoever. Additionally Rocket did not know how to dog; greet, play, etc.. We have been working dilligently with his crate and house training; both are going well, only one oops in his crate in the last 7days, we keep him leashed or tethered to us while in the house. As far as "dogging" is concerned, Rocket has excelled! We will only place him in a home with another husky or husky mix as his doggy mentor.

Rocket has been gaining muscle and weight; he was only 27lbs or 29lbs when he came into rescue. Once he fills out he will be a nice sized husky. For additional information or an adoption application please email... kaleidoscopek9s@yahoo.com
