Our process is designed to support safe, thoughtful, and long-term matches for our dogs and adopters. 1. Application: Complete the adoption application (with photos and brief descriptions of past or current pets): https://forms.gle/9vBTeT7Dd99dZX627 2. Interview: If there is a potential match, we schedule a ~30-minute interview to learn more about your household, lifestyle, and expectations. 3. Home Check + References: A virtual or in-person home check and reference verification are conducted to ensure a safe and appropriate environment. 4. Two-Week Trial: A two-week trial period begins upon placement. Daily updates (brief text + photo/video) are required to monitor adjustment, safety, and decompression. Trial extensions may be granted if needed. 5. Finalization: After a successful trial, we finalize adoption. The adoption agreement is reviewed and signed, the adoption fee is paid, and medical records are transferred. 6. Veterinary Requirements: Adopters agree to maintain routine veterinary care, obtain Lyme vaccination when recommended by local veterinarians, and continue monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. 7. Registration & Safety: Adopters agree to register the dog with municipal licensing and a national microchip registry (ex: Free Pet Chip Registry). Appropriate safety equipment (GPS tracker, martingale collar, harness) must be used. A photo of the equipment and feeding setup must be provided during the trial period.
