Rita's Story

According to the internet, I am expected to weigh no more than 25 pounds when I am fully grown! This makes me the perfect medium-to-small size—not too big for a lap, but sturdy enough for any fun outdoor adventures you have planned.
I am a 10-week-old baby girl, and I am the ultimate "oops" puppy! My original owners never thought it was biologically possible for a tiny, five-pound Yorkie dad and a medium-sized, 45-pound Australian Shepherd mom to have babies, so they didn't worry about fixing them. Surprise! Nature found a way, and I arrived as a perfectly healthy, delightfully unique little miracle.
Because my birth was such an unexpected shock, my first family wasn't prepared to raise a puppy, which is how my journey to finding you began. I am just a tiny baby right now, but I am already growing into a fascinating mix. I have the brilliant mind and loyalty of a herding dog, packed into a spunky, affectionate body. Best of all, my coat is uniquely beautiful and as soft as a bunny to touch! You won't want to stop petting me.
Since I am only 10 weeks old, my favorite activities are playing with toys, taking long naps, and learning where to go potty. I am a blank slate, ready for a dedicated family to teach me how to be the best dog I can be.

If you would like to adopt Rita and/or one of her siblings, please TEXT (714) 882-9865 and complete the online application @www.RescueMePets.com/forms
