Meet Ridge
We got our vet check back and we are cleared to find our furever home!
Meet Ridge, a 5-6 year old spayed female Great Dane.
?
We first heard about Ridge through a Facebook post. A concerned resident of Corryton posted a photo of a lost and malnourished Dane who was too fearful to approach. We immediately jumped into action. For 2 weeks we exhausted every option possible to catch her. Over that 2 weeks she traveled a total of 7 miles while avoiding fireworks from the July 4th weekend. We assume through desperation and starvation, she approached a family who was able to get a leash on her. Covered in ticks (65 give or take) and severely malnourished, we had her!
?
Ridge has been with us for three weeks now and we have learned a lot about her. She’s a whacky, talking, energetic, loving, couch potato who is obsessed with her blankie?? She has shown no signs of human or dog aggression all though she does lack proper social skills in a group play setting. She does not know her size and can be overbearing for small dogs. We believe she is potty trained due to her having very limited accidents in the home. We have also found her to be non destructive but we have not allowed unsupervised time in our home. Ridge is a special case who requires someone with experience. She is still timid outside due to her time running loose during the fireworks but responds well with other dogs in the yard. Her malnourishment could lead to health complications in the future although she is healthy as can be currently!
?
