Meet Remmi

6/9/2019 If you can see this post, Remmi is still available for adoption. Please continue reading and complete an adoption application, if you are interested. Sending an inquiry to ask if the dog is still available will only delay the processing of your application.

*/*/* PLEASE NOTE: The first communication you will receive after completing an application will be an email response, which will have instructions on how to proceed. Please check your inbox AND spam folders for this email. We will not begin processing an application without the information requested in that email. */*/*

6/23 pupdate: Remmi has been spayed and is all ready for her new family! This sweet little girl almost looks like she's got some Doxie (short legs, longer body), but in some pics she looks a little labby. We just got word that her Momma was an Irish Terrier mix. Remmi is full of love and cuddles, she loves to give kisses and play, play, play. She would love to have a young playmate or some kids to play with. Kids should be dog savvy. She can hear, but she is blind. She has a really good 'sniffer' though!!

Remmi and her brother Romulus are the newest sibling pups to join us here at Green Dogs Unleashed. This sweet 10 week old little girl is blind, but is absolutely full of spunk, snuggles and cuddles and kisses. She doesn't let being blind slow her down one bit - check out the video of her playing with her brother.

Remmi and Romulus' pregnant Momma was rescued in Texas, where she had her pups in the comfort of someone's home. We don't have any idea what breed Dad was, but Mom was a cute little scruffy terrier type. They look like they will be smaller dogs, but we can't be absolutely sure. Remmi has already started receiving her puppy shots, and will be current on age-appropriate boosters prior to being adopted. She has a spay date set for 6/13 or 14.

*/*/* Young puppies will receive age-appropriate vaccines, and will be spayed/neutered prior to adoption. Adopters may be required to provide additional puppy boosters and at 16 weeks of age, a rabies vaccine. Future annual vaccines, testing and monthly heartworm preventative are REQUIRED, and will be the financial responsibility of the adopter.

We are happy to consider applicants from out of state. However, if the applicant is approved, they must be willing to come to our location in Troy, VA, for a meet and greet. If all parties agree that the pup and family are a good fit, they would take the pup home at that time.

GDU does ask a minimum adoption fee of 300.00. This does not even come close to covering all expenses created by animals while in rescue. We are funded solely by the angels and volunteers willing to donate time and finances. This minimum fee includes DAPP, rabies if age appropriate,, heartworm test and preventative, if age appropriate, and flea and tick treatment, as well as neutering or spaying if the animal is medically sound to undergo surgery. In an attempt to avoid tummy upset from a sudden change of food, the foster family may include a small, transitional bag of the food the dog/puppy has been eating. And if the dog/puppy has grown attached to a special item (like a toy or blanket), they may send that along, as well.
