Ready to hear from Reggie's foster? The below text is what they have to say about him!

"Reggie, or Brown Bear as I call him, is absolutely a big sweetheart of a puppy. He loves attention and will get it every chance he can even if he has to make his way through the other dogs. He loves to play with the other puppies/dogs and the kids. He is a table surfer and with his size, it’s pretty easy for him but coming from their beginnings it’s easy to understand why but we are working on it. He loves to chew his toys but he does have an occasion to have trouble distinguishing his toys from people's things so you have to be careful/watchful. He loves to cuddle and loves his human beds. He is such a happy puppy and a true joy. He will be the best addition to some lucky family!"

Reggie did not have the best start to life. He was born on a property where the owners didn't do much with him. As his litter grew, they started roaming and going to the neighbor's property. The neighbors did not appreciate that and threatened to shoot him and his siblings. The owner ended up reaching out for help in placing these guys. We ended up taking 5 of his siblings. Reggie and 5 of his littermates were still on the property while we searched for foster homes for them. Shortly after pulling the original 5(Elvira, Mistress of the Bark, Beowolf, Peanut Butter, Claire, and Brownie) they all came down with parvo and had to be rushed to the vet.

It turns out that the other 6 puppies, including Reggie, that were still on the property were also sick with Parvo. We had begged the owner to take the other puppies to the vet, and we would figure out things from there. They refused and three puppies ended up losing their life. Thankfully with the help of OAA and some amazing volunteers, we were able to get them off the property and to the vet. Once they recovered we welcomed Pecan Sandie, Hot Fudge Sundae, and Reggie to our fluffy butt family. This rescue took a village, and we are so thankful to OAA for assisting with the puppies, to the amazing lady who alerted us to the pups in need, and to all our vets and fosters that helped nurse these guys back to health!

Reggie is a 6-month-old male Great Pyrenees/Shepherd mix. He currently weighs around 50lbs. We expect him to top out somewhere in the 85-90lb range.

??To Reggie's Future Family??
-----------------------------------------

? Reggie has been recovering from Parvo so he hasn't had much experience with the leash. He has been on a few car rides and did well. He loves meeting new people but may initially be a bit reserved. He has not been to any public outings yet. Reggie is all about giving hugs and lovings and will jump up on people sometimes.

? Reggie has not had the chance to play in any big bodies of water. He does seem to love the rain and mud, though. He isn't interested in playing fetch but does love playing with toys.
-Reggie has not shown to have any issues with food aggression or resource guarding in his foster home.

?Reggie is potty trained. He is still young, so his new home should be puppy-proofed. Reggie has not needed to be kenneled in his foster home, so has no expereince being in one. Currently, he is baby-gated to a certain area of the home when his fosters are away and does great. At night, he likes to sleep in bed with his foster parents or on the floor.

? We are unsure how Reggue would do in an apartment setting. His new family would need to have a good exercise plan in place and be prepared to leash train him.

?Reggie is being fostered around other dogs, cats, and kids. He loves the other dogs and enjoys playing with them. He does well with the cat and loves kids.

?? Adopting Reggie ??

Reggie is active, loves people and loves to play. His ideal home would have another dog, big yard, and an active family who is home quite a bit or willing to take him along on adventures.

?Reggie will be ready to go home around June 29th after his second puppy shots ?

Reggie is being fostered in Blanchard, OK. His new family needs to be able to pick him up(even if they are out of state). No commercial transports and no shipping. Just a fun road trip with him and his new family! ?

His adoption fee is $225. That includes two sets of puppy shots and wormings. He will also have had a bordetella. He will be micro-chipped, have a fecal done, be de-wormed, be spayed/neutered, and will be current on heart-worm and flea/tick prevention.
