Are you looking for a moderate energy and daily exercise buddy. Look no further this boy is your reason for adventures and jogging daily. Red is a red heeler about 3 years old and weighs about 45-50 lbs. He is UTD on shots and neutered. He has a dominant side personality so if he isn't going to be your only dog then he should be with dogs who are submissive or ignore. Red likes to play with humans but he can get carried away due to his size plus gravity and momentum makes him a bit of a solid weight when he gets going. Obedience training/practice is recommended even though he knows most of his commands. This boy is a smart cookie and his new home should develop a bond through obedience training / training exercises so you can continue to ensure that this boys size and his inability to not chase small things that run don't get the best of him.

He is about a 3 mile walker right now and about 1-2 mile jogger. He loves adventures but has a large prey interest so off leash adventures should be monitored very closely after a refresher obedience class. His recall could use some work but in the short time we have been working with him I have found him very eager to do what he is being told and he loves training treats. He loves to snuggle on the couch but should have boundaries and limitations due to his dominant traits. He sometimes thinks he is smarter than the average human and therefore should be protective of them around other dogs/strangers.

This boy is not for the first time cattle dog owner. He needs an experienced owner who understands herding breeds and more importantly herding breed behaviors.
