Meet Raleigh! This amazingly beautiful boy is a 2-3 year old Border Collie mix who adores people and is super smart. What else would you expect from a Border Collie??
We think Raleigh is mixed with something a tad larger than a BC...maybe Catahoula?
His personality is incredible, sweet and gentle, and eager to give and get love.
Raleigh ended up at a Colorado shelter as a stray. We don't know his history, up until he arrived there. Due to no fault of his own, he was rescue only. SDR stepped in, and partnering with HeRD of Wyoming, we saved him!
Raleigh's ideal home would be one where he is with mature adults who love going for walks and hikes, and then hanging out at home. A quieter home would be better for Raleigh - so no kids - as this big lug needs to be the focus of the home, and a routine and peaceful setting is what will help him settle in and thrive.
We are absolutely in love with this boy, and we know you will be too. His heart and soul are so beautiful. And so are his photos!
We are asking applicants to fill out our SDR application even though he is a courtesy post. Our SDR trainer (KPA, CPDT) is offering free consults and training to whoever adopts Raleigh.


Raleigh is fully vetted, housetrained and can handle a crate for short periods.
