Meet Prue

Prue would like to share her story with you! ?

Hey guys, Prue here! I came to the rescue when I was 8 weeks old. I am now 16 weeks old. I don't think anyone formed a connection with me yet, so I was hoping that by "officially" introducing myself someone would fall in love with me!

My story starts when I was just a babe. I found myself in the shelter. At only 8 weeks I was found as a stray and brought there. It was a pretty scary place but I figured my owners would come for me. After all, who isn't worried when their puppy ends up lost. I was wrong though. No one came for me, and now I was a puppy left in a very full shelter and exposed to all sorts of things. Thankfully, once my stray hold was up this rescue came for me. I landed in an awesome foster home, was given a name, and almost have everything I ever wanted. The only thing I am missing right now is my forever family, and I am hoping that I will find them soon!

My name is Prue and I hope to be your new girl! I am a 16-week old cutie and currently weigh about 25lbs. I am a Great Pyrenees/Anatolian Shepherd mix.

Before you jump into adopting me, be sure to read everything about me. Don't adopt me because I am pretty, adopt me because you know without a doubt that my personality would fit wonderfully within your family ?

-How can someone adopt me?
The first step is to fill out an adoption app for me at https://www.pyrpawsandfluffytailsrescue.com/adoption-app
Once this app comes in, it will get sent on to my foster family and they will help me decide if we are a match or not.

-Where are you being fostered? Would I need to pick you up? Can I adopt you even if I don't live in Oklahoma?
I am being fostered in Skiatook, OK. Yes, you would need to pick me up. This rescue does not send us on transports. It is less stress on us that way. Plus, you and I can already start bonding on the road trip home! ?Yes, I am okay moving to a new state.

-Do I do well with strangers?
I haven't met too many people. However, I am a very loyal girl. That means that I prefer my family and would probably be alert when meeting new people.

-Do you jump on people?
I have good manners when meeting new people. I am calm and don't jump.

-Do you enjoy going places?
I have not been anywhere except for the vet clinic. I was a bit nervous there but did fine.

-What is your energy level like?
Pretty calm, a little on the serious side.

-Do you enjoy walks?
I am a little stubborn on the leash. So, will still need some working with there.

-Do you like road trips?
I ride well in the car and don't seem to mind road trips.

-Can I trust you to free-roam the house, even if I am away?
I may still be a bit too young for that. Currently, when my fosters are away, I am baby-gated to an area with access to a doggie door and do well.

-Are you potty trained? What about kennel trained?
I am working on my potty training but I am kennel trained.

-What do you like to do for fun?
I seem uninterested in playing fetch or in the water. I do love playing with toys and being near my people, though.

-Would you do okay living in an apartment?
Possibly. Depends on how active my new family is and how much they are home.

-Do you bark a lot?
No, I have not shown to be a big barker in my foster home.

-Are you good with other dogs, cats, and kids?
I am good with other dogs. My initial instinct is to protect my family/pack but once I am used to the other dog I do well with them. I do play some but prefer to keep watch over everything

I do great with cats.

I love kids of all ages.

-Is there anything else that I need to know about you? Any quirks?

I haven't shown to have any signs of food aggression, however, I will give a warning if another dog tries to stick their head in the food bowl I am eating out of.

I have not shown to have any issues with resource guarding.

-Can I hear what your foster has to say about you?
"Prue is a very smart and determined pup. While most pups prefer to run around the backyard being silly, Prue takes her duties of watching over everything very seriously. She keeps an eye on what’s going on around her and isn’t afraid to check things out if necessary. She loves her family very much and at the end of a day spent watching over them her favorite thing is to cuddle up next to them on the couch ??"

Phew! That took longer than I thought! Hopefully, all your questions about me were answered though! Before you apply to adopt me I have a few last things that I would like to discuss!

~ I am pretty independent and think I could adjust to just about any type of home. I do like to cuddle at the end of the day. I would not place myself with any alpha-type dogs. I have a little bit of a boss dog personality and would do well either as an only dog or with a laid back type of dog ~

*My adoption fee is $275. That includes two sets of puppy shots and wormings. I will also have had a bordetella. I will be micro-chipped, have a fecal done, be de-wormed, be spayed/neutered, and will be current on heart-worm and flea/tick prevention.
