Prince Pit Bull Terrier Phoenix, AZ

Prince has had a really long road. We are grateful to our friends at HARTT.org who learned about Prince back in July. He had spent months roaming in a park behind a school. Good Samaritans made sure he had food and water, but Prince would not let anyone near him. After multiple attempts to catch him, the volunteers at HARTT humanely trapped Prince at 2:30am on August 14th. No where to place Prince, he was sent off to MCACC where he passed all of the assessment tests and was deemed timid but adoptable. Fast forward a month later and sweet Prince had not been adopted and he slowly began to break down. Shelter life was too stressful for this sensitive boy. When HARTT learned of Prince's decline, they contacted us. Timing is everything so they say....and we were grateful that we had the resources to take Prince into our care. Prince is still initially quite timid , but man does he warm up!! He is FUN!! He is ADVENTUROUS. He is CURIOUS! He is LOVING! It has been a joy getting to know this little guy. He loves to go on car rides, he is a good little walker on the leash and he loves car rides and to romp in water. Prince will be a wonderful companion - he loves all people he meets with slow intros. We have made the decision that we will adopt Prince out as an only dog, not necessarily because he would not do well with a companion, BUT we do not know his history and he does have a lot of scarring that indicates he has been in a few scuffles. Prince does however, have a companion that he loves, Shine, and she too is up for adoption. It would be wonderful to see them go together, however, he will bond to his people and eventually once he feels secure and in a stable routine, another dog would be possible. We feel he needs time to heal and his journey needs not to be complicated. He needs to bond with is people. Prince is very athletic and would be a great hiking buddy. He is adorable!! He is also very cuddly and just so sweet. Prince had major surgery to remove multiple teeth he has the cutest little bottom lip with three teeth peeping out. The cuteness never ends with this kid.
