Meet Precious
March 2020 UPDATE !
Precious is a spunky, lovable pocket-pitty girl. Her DNA test shows that she's a mix of pit bull, Boston terrier, and another small terrier breed. She has plenty of intensity, but is very trainable with a knowledgeable owner. She's not a fan of little dogs or cats, but would do best as an only dog, or possibly an easy-going male dog. Although she was fine in foster care with two other female dogs, she is reaching maturity, where finding her place in the hierarchy is at the top of her list.
Precious was recently returned from an adoption--learning to walk off-leash, going to breweries and dog parks. Her owners were heartbroken to have to return her but she wasn't a good fit for their older female dog. Precious already knows how to behave in a home, she just needs owners that are willing to continue to give her proper exercise and guidance.

Dec. 4th, 2019 - Foster update on Precious!
Precious is doing great in her foster home. She was very quickly house trained and has learned pack rules and good manners. She lives with a playful dog and an off-limits senior dog. Precious is very respectful and patient at mealtime and treat time. She enjoys dog toys and leaves everything else alone—even the Christmas tree! She goes on two long walks per day and is very good in her crate. Due to her breeding, Precious is cute and lovable but also very tenacious. She will do great in a home that understands pack leadership and pack rules.
___________
Precious is a petite "pocket pittie" mix about 25 pounds and about 11-12 months old. She is a friendly, playful girl and very athletic. She can jump fences so she should be leash walked and/or supervised in a fenced backyard. She's be a great pet for older children who have energy to burn! She is smart and would love to learn new tricks.
Precious went to a weekend foster where she was snugly and played well with their large dog. She seems great with most dogs her size and larger but may look at smaller dogs long the same line as squirrels :-) (We always recommend meeting resident dogs before adoption.) Based on her weekend foster experience, Precious seems to be housetrained.
Being adopted by a nice running or walking partner would make Precious very happy!
Precious is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated and up to date on heartworm and flea/tick preventative. Our $250 adoption fee covers these expenses.
COMPLETED APPLICATIONS MUST BE SUBMITTED PRIOR TO MEETING OUR DOGS. APPLICATIONS ARE CONSIDERED IN THE ORDER IN WHICH THEY ARE RECEIVED. http://www.redbarnrescue.com/adoption-application.html
