Potter's Story

Potter is an absolute doll. This 4-5 year old easy going guy has been through so much. He was found wondering the streets as a stray on a hot summer day. He seemed confused and disoriented. After a perfect health check at the vet, he sat in his small kennel in the tiny rural shelter waiting for his people find find come for him, but they never came.

Potter must have had a home. He behaves perfectly in his foster home. He is fully potty trained. And while he prefers not to have to go in the crate, he lays in there quietly if he is asked to. He is extremely food motivated and a bit underweight (he's about 55lbs and should be closer to 60), so he needs a little support in the begining to make sure he doesn't get into anything he's not supposed to.

Potter also walks nicely on the leash. He does have a habit of orbiting around his person, but with a little positive reinforcement and treats, he picks up on how he's supposed to walk quickly.

Potter would love a home where he can be with his humans for the most part of the day. He would love a family who would snuggle with him and give him lots of love. While he has not lived with another dog that we know of, he's done well greeting every dog he's met on walks.

If you live in DC/MD/NoVa and looking for a companion to fill your retired years, or a sidekick who is ready for an adventure, Potter is the perfect candidate for either of those.
