Meet PORTHOS
Volutneer notes, 4/24/24: Quiet, dignified Porthos has stolen our hearts! We cannot possibly pass by his kennel without taking him out. He has beautiful leash manners and also does well off leash in the play yard. Mostly he wants to take treats very gently, and snuggle with his people. He is fastidious about his bathroom business--clearly house trained. Porthos seems like he's just waiting for a home with a soft couch and an attentive, loving human. Volunteer notes, 4/18/24: Porthos is so distinguished and dignified! He walked beautifully on the leash and was extremely friendly and gentle. He roamed around the play yard to do his business but mostly wanted to sit with us and accept pets. His coat is so soft. He begged for treats using only his eyes and a casual glance at the treat bag; he is so smart and communicative. His only quirk was that he was anxious about being returned to his kennel. Foster notes: 3/31/24 - I am fostering this distinguished older gentleman named Porthos, who I call Buddy. He is around 7 years old and weighs about 80 pounds. He may be deaf or hard of hearing as he only reacts to loud sounds. He is one of the sweetest dogs I have ever known and for being such a big boy he is so gentle. If you are looking for a good companion to share your space on the couch this fellow definitely fits the bill. He is house trained and laid back, no food aggression, good with strangers and he seems very quiet. He will make someone a perfect companion. If you are interested in adopting Porthos please contact me or the Burlington Animal Shelter for a meet and greet.
