Pongo Dalmatian Chesapeake, VA

Pongo is an energetic young fella that found himself lost in Knoxville and picked up as a stray by a concerned citizen. Unfortunately for him, his owners never came to claim him. He had a trial overnight with a potential family while in the shelter, but did not get to stay as they said the dog they already had did not like Pongo. While in the shelter, he had a small benign mass removed from his toe. Other than that, this fella is in tip top shape, neutered, fully vetted...and absolutely beautiful. He is estimated to be about a year old and weighs 52 pounds. He gets along great with the dogs in his foster home...big and small...young and old. But his energy level may be a bit too much for younger children or some dogs. Unclear how he is with cats. As he is an active pup, he would benefit from some obedience training, as any puppy would. It appears as if someone has worked with him some, as he knows the sit command, and listens fairly well...although he will jump in excitement. He crates easily and quietly, and has not been destructive in his foster home...but is supervised closely. He rarely ever barks. House training is almost complete, but there are occasional accidents. He sometimes piddles when excited, but a lot of that could be his age. His foster mom says he is a good cuddler as she has been letting him sleep in her bed. He would be a wonderful hiking or running buddy, and LOVES tennis balls. He is located in Knoxville, TN.
