Meet Pomona

Pomona is a very special dog who is excited when anyone walks in the door. She loves to get a few pets in and then will lay down for a belly rub. If you rub her belly just know she will lay there until your hand starts to cramp. She loves to give kisses and also likes to cuddle. Pomana is a very special dog and will adapt well to any environment. She loves to play anytime she is up and will make the perfect dog for a family.

Pomona would do best with a companion to keep her company but it isn’t an absolute necessity. She would do great in an active home where there is lots of play time since she is an active dog. She does great with kids. She loves to cuddle and get belly rubs. We are still working on potty training.

I am the kind of girl that loves to cuddle and will even hug you when you pick me up. You would think that I would be someone's treasure, but instead, I ended up all alone in the woods with my siblings. The whole thing is a bit of a blur for me. I don't know if we were dumped or if we somehow got ourselves lost. What I do know, is that it was a terrifying experience. From being hungry to being cold to hearing all the sounds at night to wondering if we would make it until morning. I don't know how long we were out there on our own but I do know it was for a bit. Eventually, a nice lady saw us in the woods near her house and took us in. I was so incredibly thankful that I was once again around people. The nice lady tried to find our family, but no one ever reclaimed us. She ended up reaching out to this rescue, and it wasn't long after that my siblings Kiwi, Sorrell, Saffron, and I joined this rescue's fluffy butt family!

My name is Pomona and I am a 12-week-old, 18lb female Great Pyrenees/Aussie mix. I do well with other dogs. I do enjoy the companionship of other dogs and will sometimes play with them, but I can also be indifferent to them at other times. I am being fostered around cats and really don't pay them any mind. I have been around kids and am gentle around them. I do believe I would do fine around kids of all ages.

I have not been in the car too much but the few times I was in one I rode well. I am not fully vaccinated yet, so I have not been on any public outings yet. I do believe that I would enjoy going places with my new family once I am older and have a better concept of the leash. I am too young for walks still, but since I have a more active personality believe that I would love going for walks...and once I am older even on hikes. I do well when meeting new people but might be a little shy initially. Once I warm up, it doesn't take me long to start giving out kisses. I do sometimes jump on people when I get really excited. I am shy when meeting new dogs but warm up fairly quickly to them. While I think that I would really enjoy going places with my family and being active outside the house, I also think that I could handle homebody life if my family had ways to still keep me stimulated. I am a pretty easygoing girl, and truly believe that I would be happy in just about any home environment as long as I felt like I was part of the family.

I am not interested in playing fetch as of right now. I do love chew toys and have started playing tug o war. I have not had the chance to play in any water yet. While I do still nap a lot, whenever I am awake I love playing with the other dogs, running around in the backyard, or playing with toys. My energy level is a little more on the active side but still mixed with lots of puppy naps. :) I do believe that if my family were active enough that I would do well living in an apartment setting.

I am still working on my potty training. I am also working on my kennel training as well. I do your typical puppy chewing and will sometimes grab a pillow or blanket or sneak away with a shoe. Nothing a little puppy-proofing can't fix. I have not been a big barker in my foster home.

If you are interested in adopting me and offering me FUREVER, you can apply for me at
https://www.pyrpawsandfluffytailsrescue.com/adoption-app

Once this app comes in, it will be sent on to my foster family. This is to help ensure that not only am I a good fit for you but that you are also a good fit for me! ?

I am currently residing in Broken Arrow, OK. I do ask that my new family pick me up, none of that outside transport stuff. If I am going to move in with you, I expect to start our journey in the car together driving home TOGETHER. ?

My adoption fee is $300.
That will include two sets of puppy shots and wormings. I will also have had a bordetella. I will be micro-chipped, have a fecal done, be de-wormed, be spayed/neutered, and will be current on heartworm and flea/tick prevention.
