Polly is an amazing little girl with a heart as big as her smile! Paralyzed in her hind legs, she was found abandoned in the lobby of the Riverside County Department of Animal Services. When the shelter reached out for help, we welcomed this resilient girl into the Frosted Faces family, and she's been winning hearts ever since! <br/><br/>Polly Pocket is not a dog you feel sorry for. Despite rear leg paralysis from IVDD, she moves as well as any other 8-year-old and lights up any room she's in with pure happiness just to be with people. Her wheelchair even makes her something of a superhero, helping her fly down the street. <br/><br/>Despite waiting over 9 months for a family, she's done so much, thanks to her loyal legion of volunteer friends...paddle boarding, office days, boating in the harbor, farmers markets, concerts, parties, and hiking in her backpack. She's an honorary Girl Scout and makes all of our youth groups squeal in delight when they see her in her uniform.<br/><br/>But most of her nights are spent in a kennel with 18 roommates, and she's seen so many leave for homes. Polly is a vibrant young senior and we so want to see her spend these golden years with a family who will cherish her. We know the idea of a dog with a wheelchair might intimidate some, but Polly will help you. She's been on 2 two-week flings in her time as a Frosted Face with great reviews.<br/><br/>Polly's priorities are simple: snuggling literally any human of any size, she's not shy about loving a lap, all the foods, and whatever hilarious side quest she invents. When it comes to Polly and other pets, she considers herself one of the big kids. She hangs out harmoniously in our play yard with up to 5 other gentle big dogs and likes to play with others, as long as they are ok letting her win. Also, one of Polly's favorite pastimes is hunting (lizards better watch out). For this reason, she cannot live with smaller dogs and cats.<br/><br/>Curious about potty care? Her fling families shared that it's no big deal, as Polly tells you when she needs to pee and she poops on a reliable schedule. A squeeze to express her bladder, common with paralyzed pups, helps reduce accidents and her diaper can stay dry much of the time.<br/><br/>Polly is so ready for her forever home.
