He can be a little shy when first meeting someone, but he usually does not take long to decide that you are a friend. Pippin can also be fearful of new experiences and would benefit from someone patient who can help him build confidence and learn that new things can be safe.

Once he feels comfortable, Pippin's playful personality really comes out, especially if there are stuffed toys involved. Pippin is good with cats and walks fairly well on leash. In the kennel environment he tends to be quieter and can seem a little down, although he may bark when people pass by or approach. Outside of his kennel, he is a much happier, more playful dog. He is smart and observant, and you can tell he is always taking in everything happening around him. Pippin is a sweet, sensitive boy who would likely blossom once he is settled into a home of his own.

Good with women: Yes

Good with men: Yes

Good with kids: Yes, older children recommended as he is shy at first

Good with other dogs: Yes, can be shy around some dogs at first

Good with cats: Yes

House trained: Yes

Crate trained: Yes

Energy level: Medium

Can be handled/touched: Yes

Barker: No

Flight risk: No, but extra precaution should always be taken in the beginning

Food Aggressive: No

Walks on leash: Yes, walks well

Leash reactive to people or dogs: No

Rides well in car: Yes

Destructive: No

Needs a home with a yard: Preferred

Needs a home with another dog: No

Can live in an apartment: Possibly
