Phoebe's Story

Meet Phoebe!

Phoebe is a beautiful 3-year-old Border Collie/Australian Shepherd cross with a gentle heart and so much love to give. Despite having a difficult start in life after being rescued from a hoarding situation in Northern Saskatchewan, Phoebe has proven to be incredibly resilient. She is trusting, affectionate, and has no food aggression whatsoever.

Phoebe is fully house-trained and can be left with free run of the house. She's also kennel-trained, which is especially helpful since car rides tend to make her motion sick—a kennel is recommended when travelling.

She walks wonderfully on a leash, although she believes rabbits are meant to be chased! Phoebe has good recall and knows several basic commands, including sit, down, and lay down. She currently enjoys off-leash time in open fields with her two canine friends and does very well.

Phoebe is a true "Velcro dog" who loves being close to her person. Because she's a little shy at times, she would likely thrive in a home with another friendly, confident dog to help her feel secure.

One of Phoebe's adorable quirks is that she lets out a little whine when she's excited, wants attention, or is being petted—it's simply her way of expressing herself. She also isn't a fan of slippery floors, so rugs or runners help her feel more comfortable.

If you're looking for a loyal, loving companion who will happily be by your side, Phoebe may be the perfect addition to your family.

If you feel that Phoebe could be a great match for you, please complete an adoption application on our website. Adoption fee is $450 and this includes their core vaccines (DA2PPV, Rabies) deworming, health checks and spay/neuter, as well as any care required. All finalized adoptions come with a free 6 week trial of pet insurance with Pet Secure.

Hull's Haven Border Collie Rescue's Adoption Policy
For Border Collies, HHBCR has strict guidelines for adopting this breed. Border Collies are extremely high energy, high intelligence dogs. They are known as "The Einsteins of the Dog World". That being said, they are also a breed that has many bizarre and peculiar behaviours. They can be obsessive compulsive, very focused and many have the deep rooted need to herd. They will herd cats, other dogs and children. This can cause a problem in families with small kids. For other breeds, HHBCR will similarly ensure that guidelines are followed suitable for that breed. While each dog has its very own unique personality, one must seriously research the breed before deciding to bring one into their home. For this reason, Hull's Haven will have many questions for any prospective adopter, and reserves the right to refuse anyone deemed unsuitable. HHBCR's adoption fee ($400 for puppies $400 for small breeds, $350 for most medium/large breeds, and $250for se
