Meet Peppi

The handsome Peppi and his brother Rizzo were found as strays in Kentucky before eventually making their way to us. They are almost twins, but Peppi has a white stripe on his neck and another on his face. They are 10 months old and weigh about 20 pounds. They look like some kind of spitz mix (maybe with Jack Russell Terrier)- you gotta love those ears :)

Update: Rizzo has found a wonderful home and now we are on a mission to find the same for Peppi.

Some great STAF volunteer feedback on both of these little guys:
“Both Peppi and Rizzo greeted me with ear nuzzles and kisses and were very excited to meet someone new. They are affectionate and cute with bright eyes and the cutest curly q tails. They are good on leash and loved to go hiking at the park. While on a walk they were fearless trailblazers and hopped over giant logs without pause. They also liked standing in the creek. They are very friendly with people. On the way back from our walk they both plopped down in the grass when we were almost back and seemed very content to relax in the grass. They are very sweet, and would soak up the attention and affection anytime I stopped during our hike to pet them. Once back in their runs, they showered me with kisses while I removed their harnesses. They are little cuties!”

Peppi is a favorite at daycare and they all rave about how wonderful he is with all his playmates and how lovable he is with everyone on the daycare staff:) Peppi will prosper in a home that will shower him with love, affection and positive guidance.

Peppi’s estimated birth date is October 2017
Peppi will need: A home that will be patient with dog introductions and a home that will be committed to positive based training and to giving Peppi plenty of exercise
Peppie would love: A home with a fenced yard as well as a home that likes to take long walks to help him burn off his puppy energy,

Please see our homepage for visiting hours and adoption details.

All of our animals are spayed/neutered and current on shots.

Visit our website www.staf.org to download our application.

We do not do same-day adoptions; we ask that you return for a follow-up visit before taking an animal home.

You must be 21 years or older to adopt a dog from STAF

We require a physical fence for homes with children under the age of 11. We also may require a physical fence for specific dogs on a case-by-case basis, depending on each dog's behavior and exercise needs.

Invisible fences - Due in part to increasing coyote activity/incidents in the area and the difficulty of predicting how a dog will respond to invisible fence training--we cannot adopt to homes with invisible fences unless otherwise noted in a dog's online profile.

We do request vet and personal references.

At this time, we are only able to consider applicants within 75 miles of Cincinnati.

Can’t adopt but want to help? You can make a difference! Our shelter is run entirely on volunteer-power and generous donations from animal-lovers like you. 100% of your contribution goes directly to caring for our 500+ furry residents. Thank you for your support.
