Peppermint's Story

Meet Peppermint, the cool, refreshing swirl of sweetness you didn’t know your life was missing. At 18 pounds and about 3 years old, this Lhasa apso–poodle mix is as stunning as her name suggests—think soft curls, gentle eyes, and a “don’t rush me, I’m worth the wait” kind of vibe.

Peppermint isn’t the type to sprint into your arms upon meeting. She’s more of a slow melt—like a mint on your tongue that takes a moment before the flavor really kicks in. New people can feel a little chilly at first, but give her the time and space she needs, and she’ll warm up into the sweetest companion you could ask for. She just wants a family that understands that building trust is an act of love, not a race.

She’s currently learning the art of leash walking, which she approaches with all the cautious enthusiasm of someone who’s just figuring out that strolls are actually…kind of fun. With a patient hand and a little encouragement, she’s ready to bloom into a confident walker.

Peppermint is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines. Her 4DX test came back negative, so she’s healthy and ready for her forever home.

If you’re looking for a gorgeous gal who may start off a little cool but leaves a long-lasting sweetness in your heart, Peppermint is ready to make your home her own.

Want to meet her? Please fill out our application at azhartt.org/adopt

Requirements include meeting everyone in the household, dog intros (if applicable), and a home check.

Adoption applications are approved on a best-fit basis.

We do not do out-of-state adoptions.
