MUST LIVE IN ROCHESTER, NY AREA TO ADOPT and a companion dog for him to continue learning from.

Patty spent the first 8 years of her life making puppies and now it is her time to get to learn what is means to be a dog. Patty is not potty trained but her foster mom has been working with her one that and she does go potty outside. Patty has started waking her foster mom up in the middle of the night if she has to go potty. One of the first things patty learned is how much she likes sleeping amongst the pillow at night on the bed. She also loves to be with her people and gets upset when she can’t be. Her world has changed a lot and unfortunately she has some anxiety while she adjusts. She does cry, whine and bark when left alone. Patty is 8 and does not understand playing or toys but she does enjoy relaxing on the couch with her foster brother (a senior chihuahua). For a puppy mill dog she does well walking on leash because she follows right behind you. Big dogs, loud noises and fast movements scare Patty. For the reason we are looking for a home with older children who will understand that sweet patty will warm up in time but she won’t like having to run and hide from young kids.

She will be going to his adoptive home under a foster to adopt contract until her spay and dental is complete. You would be required to get her into our vet clinic date TBD, in Brockport and then pick up from rescue to finalize adoption at that time. For this reason we will not adopt to anyone outside our immediate adoption area. We are in Rochester, NY, we adopt to people who live in the Rochester area. We do not ship our dogs and require home visits. Must live in area to adopt, will not respond to out of area/country requests. Additionally, if fencing is required it must be a physical fence and in place at time of home visit.
