Meet Panera!<br/><br/>Panera is a 9-month-old Miniature Schnauzer weighing 16 pounds. She is a very shy girl who is still learning to trust people and feel safe in new situations. While she may be hesitant at first, we are working with Panera to help her build trust and become more comfortable with people and handling.<br/><br/>Panera thrives in the company of other dogs and requires another social, dog-friendly canine companion in her new home. Having another dog around helps her feel more comfortable and provides her with the reassurance she needs as she continues to come out of her shell.<br/><br/>We are currently working with Panera on becoming more comfortable with the anticipation of handling. We have found that she does best with slow, easygoing approaches that allow her time to process what is happening. She is looking for a patient adopter who is willing to go at her pace, respect her boundaries, and avoid pushing her beyond what she is comfortable with. Panera would do best in a home without young children.<br/><br/>Panera has not yet learned her leash skills, so she requires a securely fenced yard where she can safely explore and enjoy time outside while she continues working on this skill.<br/><br/>Despite her young age and timid personality, Panera has the potential to become a wonderful companion for someone who has the patience and time to slowly introduce her to positive experiences and help her learn that the world can be a safe place. She will need a family who understands that building trust takes time and is willing to celebrate her small steps forward.<br/><br/>With patience, consistency, positive experiences, and a social canine companion by her side, Panera has the potential to continue blossoming into a wonderful companion.<br/><br/>A required in-person meet and greet at our shelter is needed to help ensure a good fit for Panera and her potential adopters.
