Orpheus's Story

I AM CURRENTLY IN FOSTER!
Hi, I’m Orpheus — but my foster family calls me Opie.
I’m a sweet, gentle boy with a soft heart and a story that’s still unfolding. While I can be a little shy when meeting new people, I’ve been making beautiful progress in my foster home every day.

I absolutely love other dogs — especially my foster sister, who helps me feel safe and brings out my playful side. Having a confident canine friend in my forever home will be really important for helping me continue to grow.

With the people I trust, I’m becoming more and more affectionate. I now seek out my foster mom for comfort and companionship, and those quiet moments together are my favorite. I’m also fully housebroken and have been doing great on my leashed walks — I really enjoy getting out and exploring the world at my own pace.

I can still be sensitive to new environments, loud noises, or too much going on at once, so I’ll need a calm, patient home that understands I may take a little time to settle in. I do best with gentle energy, predictable routines, and people who let me come to them when I’m ready.

I’d thrive in a home with space and a cozy area where I can decompress when I need to. I’m not the type to rush up and greet you right away — but if you’re willing to give me the time and kindness I need, I’ll reward you with a quiet, meaningful bond that’s truly special.

If you believe in patience, soft progress, and the joy of watching a shy dog blossom, I might just be your perfect match. ??

Currently, I am available for adoption. If you're interested in adopting me, please fill out an application online or call the Humane Society of Forsyth County at 770-887-6480. Adoption hours are Tuesday through Thursday 11-5 or Friday and Saturday 1-5. All of my love and kisses, Orpheus /(^.^)\
