Meet Opie:: 2 years old, 65 pounds, Neutered Male German Shepherd Dog.

This handsome guy is searching for his forever home! Opie is a sweet boy with a lot of energy to burn. He is very intelligent and would do best with an active person/family who has experience with this breed/type (Opie is not suitable for a first time dog person/family). Opie needs a person/family who will provide him with the daily exercise, ongoing training (professional training would be best) and mental stimulation he needs, Opie can become anxious if he is not getting enough exercise and mental stimulation. He is house broken, crate trained and he is playful with the other dogs in his foster home and would do best if other dogs in the home are young and/or playful and easy going. He would do best in a home without small children and he will need plenty of time to adjust to his new home with slow, controlled introductions to any current dogs in the home. Opie is a great dog, extremely loyal and attentive to his person/people, but he needs someone who is committed to his training needs.

$145 Adoption Fee.

A $10.00 non-refundable application fee is required to submit your adoption application and will be deducted from your adoption fee if you adopt.

All Peppermint Pig Animal Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, current on vaccinations, heartworm tested, current on heartworm and flea prevention, and microchipped.

Along with other criteria evaluated in the adoption application, a Fenced Yard is required to adopt.

Our adoption area, unless otherwise specified in their bio, is within a two hour radius of Peppermint Pig Animal Rescue for adult dogs, and within a one hour radius for puppies.

Adoption events are held every Saturday in our thrift store from 1:00pm to 4:00pm. Please complete your adoption application in advance so our volunteers have time to screen and contact potential adopters.

IMPORTANT: All applications are reviewed in the order they are received and qualifications are based on best fit for each individual pet. A volunteer will contact you if you are selected for a meet with adoptable pet. Final approval is always made in person.
