He came to Bark Bark Wag a few weeks ago, and his story made us very sad. He was roaming alone in Detroit, and was seen over and over in the same general area by a kind young man working locally. After 3 weeks of seeing Ollie searching for food, he realized the poor pup needed help and brought him home. His mom had Ollie scanned and a microchip was found; his name and age were confirmed, and he's a Shih-Tzu/Yorkie mix (Shorkie) who weighs 11-12#. Ollie's person was contacted, but she no longer wanted him and asked the finders to keep him. They made sure he was comfortable and loved for a week, but very long work hours thankfully led them to reach out to us for help.

We're so happy Ollie is with us, he's such an amazing and sweet little guy! He's in awe of everything, and so puppy-like as he discovers the joys of playing with toys, meeting many human and doggie friends, and enjoying fun new experiences with his foster family and foster dog siblings!
He relaxes more every day as he learns that lots of love, food, water, treats and toys are always available for him.

Ollie is smart and energetic. He's a friendly young man who loves all humans and is happy to jump into your lap for a kiss and a snuggle! He adores romping with playful dogs similar in size, though he's feeling more comfortable with friendly larger dogs as he gets more confident. He's becoming a master at fetch, and he does these funny little bunny hops when he chases a favorite toy! Ollie is quick to make friends and brings a smile to everyone he meets!

Ollie would be happiest in an adult family (or one with kind, respectful kids 10+ up). He's a joyful little tornado of fun, and he'd love a doggie housemate to run in a fenced yard with and make mischief with LOL! Ollie is learning to walk on a leash wearing a harness, but he requires a physical fenced yard because zoomies are his second favorite thing (after snuggling his humans of course)! Ollie has been learning about house training since he arrived with our rescue, and he's doing very well when he can go outside on a regular schedule. He's learning about crate training too, though he doesn't love a crate and would prefer to be in a room with a baby gate if you're not home. Ollie is a silly little sweetheart who will enchant you with his playful shenanigans; it's impossible not to fall in love with him as we all have! His furever family will be very lucky to have such an incredible and sweet companion to love and be loved by!
