OLIVER's Story

Meet Oliver!
He is a 3 year old mixed breed shitzu Maltese with a whole lot of character approx 10-15 lbs.
Other dogs: maybe well matched or a solo dog
Cats: not tested but we think fine
Kids: prefers an adult only home with a quiet social life
Meet Oliver! Your next best friend in the making. Oliver has made incredible training progress since he arrived, he is well crate trained, has learned not to bark in the house with the help of proper training tools, and is over all quite zen. While he can be a bit head shy of new people and takes a beat to warm up, Oliver loves the people who take the time to earn his trust. When he’s happy and trusts you, he joyfully bounces and skips on his walks and plays in the house.
Oliver walks well on leash, and would be considered medium energy - a daily leisurely walk in the park? This is your guy. As the rescue has invested a lot of time teaching him basic training skills, Oliver will need a human invested in carrying on what he has learned in terms of tools and equipment, we truly believe the mindset that small dogs deserving training as much as big dogs 💜 Oliver has done okay with some kids, but he mostly prefers mature adults with slow introductions.
Oliver is potty and kennel trained and does not have accidents in the house, he has a clean bill of health with no allergies but does need to be on a low fat food diet. Oliver would enjoy the company of someone who has a quiet social life who is looking for a relaxing companion.
If a low key & cuddly dog who needs someone with a rescue mindset yet also understands the value of basic training for a pet dog sounds like a match for you, please fill out an application in bio
Grooming needs: medium to high, he is low shedding with a mix of hair and fur. Needs Daily brushing, seems to do well with some basic home clipping.
