Odie the Toadie's Story
Odie is an approximately 5 year old boxer mix who originally came to us in 2024. He was adopted, but recently came back when his owner was moving and could no longer care for him. (The photos with dogs were taken in 2024 - pre-eye surgery). Video is from April 16, 2026

Odie is a wonderful dog, simply sweet. He has had a history of neglect and being passed around so we are sad to see him come back. Odie was seized in 2024 for neglect. Odie arrived with a cherry eye and required 2 surgeries to repair it. The eye looks good.

Odie ws underweight and itchy and red. At that time he was only 47 lbs. He is now a good weight at 63 lbs. (April 16).

Odie has been good with all the dogs he has met, he has lived with cats, he likes the car, he loves to play. He is just a very nice boy.

Odie may require monitoring of his allergies and food with novel proteins that do not have chicken or beef in them would be best. Thankfully there are many affordable options of fish, pork, turkey, duck and other non-chicken foods (VERY important to read labels as chicken-meal is in lot of foods).

Odie has been rechecked at the vet on April 17, 2026 and cleared for adoption.
