Brewster, NY 10509 from 3pm-5pm.<br/><br/>Meet Lily! <br/>Lily is a sweet, intelligent, and beautiful dog with a lot of love to give. She is already fully housetrained and knows her basic commands (sit, stay, down, paw, and come). If you love grooming, you're in luck-Lily absolutely adores being brushed, which is perfect for maintaining her gorgeously thick coat!<br/>While she is a wonderful companion, Lily has a sensitive soul and a few specific needs. To ensure she finds the perfect forever home, we want to be completely transparent about what makes her thrive:<br/> Her Ideal Home & Personality<br/>The Independent Roommate: Lily currently lives with a dog and cats in her foster home and coexists with them beautifully. However, she has zero interest in playing with other dogs. She is content just sharing space.<br/>Kid Dynamic: She has been around children and is tolerant of them, but she can get a bit overwhelmed by multiple kids and prefers to keep her distance rather than engage in play.<br/>Big & Strong: Lily is a large, powerful girl! She will do best with an adopter who can comfortably handle her, and we recommend using a harness for walks to keep things manageable and safe.<br/> Patience and Understanding Needed<br/>We don't know much about Lily's past, but we do know that change is hard for her.<br/>New Environment Anxiety: When introduced to a new environment, Lily experiences anxiety. She will pace, bark, and whine at first. The great news? She is not at all destructive, and this behavior completely fades once she feels safe.<br/>Slow Introductions: New situations, people, and places need to be introduced slowly and patiently by someone she trusts. Once Lily feels comfortable in her surroundings, she settles down beautifully and becomes a relaxed, loyal companion.<br/>The Bottom Line: Lily needs a patient, loving family willing to give her the time she needs to build a trusting bond.
