Meet Nutmeg
Nutmeg desperately needs a foster, foster to adopt, or adoptive home!
2 weeks ago Nutmeg was displaced from the only home she's ever known due to flooding. She was moved to a temporary foster with her partner in crime Barney.
Unfortunately their partnership is on the rocks. 8 months of living in a shelter and the stress of being uprooted once again because of the flooding has taken its toll. Barney and Nutmeg have started to pick fights with each other.
We knew this was coming. We could see their relationship deteriorating each month that they spent at the shelter. Unfortunately this makes it difficult for them to continue to share a foster home. We NEED to find Nutmeg a new foster home and someone dedicated to our amazing and resilient shy girl to work with her and show her that the world isn't so scary after all!
Nutmeg needs a quiet home with someone who has the patience to give her time to adjust to her new surroundings. Ideally she should also be the only pet in the home. It will take a little time for her to open up and trust someone new but we know she can do it. You can see in her eyes she wants to trust people she's just had so many bad experiences that it's difficult for her. When we rescued Nutmeg it was discovered that she was full of Bebe pellets on the inside in an X-ray and full of scars, wounds, and broken dog on the outside.. and that's just a glimpse into some of the things our little girl survived prior to being rescued
Once Nutmeg trusts you then you get the privilege of meeting her alter ego Nutty! Nutty is brilliant and hilarious. She is full of energy and a zest for life that can't be matched. She will play fetch all day and best shows her affection by jumping on your shoulders and kissing your face. We don't like to make a lot of guarantees... but we can absolutely guarantee that the moment she opens up to you will fill you with an indescribable new type of joy and fulfillment. Her love is unconditional and so pure and so deserving!
We'd like to find our girl someone to work with her through her everyday fears that she will always have- so if you're a fearful dog lover this could be the dog for you!
