Nora's Story

A SUPER FRIENDLY GIRL: Approx. 6 years old / Approx. 31 lbs.

Hi, my name is Nora! I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control. I've been through a lot and am looking forward to finding my new family with Mostly Mutts help. I needed to have my tail amputated to get relief from the pain of happy tail. Also, I also came in heartworm positive. The good news is my tail amputation is behind me, and I have been treated for heartworms and have completed my rest period. I am excited for the life that awaits me in a happy, loving home! I was selected to participate in the Mostly Mutts Prison Pups immersive training experience and learned a lot!

OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I've met other dogs at Mostly Mutts, and I was very talkative, but not aggressive, so if you have a nice doggie at home, lets meet and see if we can be pals! / Cats unknown. / I haven't met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, so let's meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over.

PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: The volunteers describe me as a smart girl who is super curious and a lover of attention. I'm a people dog who is playful and happy. I can be a little vocal in the shelter environment when I'm in my little room, but once I settled into the prison/foster training program, I relaxed and became much quieter. With a consistent routine and a comfortable environment, I show off my calm and easygoing personality! I am ready to be a great companion to a wonderful family. I have a little bit of stranger danger when I see people wearing dark clothing, though I never show any aggression. / Energy level: 3-5.

SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I'm a proud graduate of the Mostly Mutts Prison Pups immersive training experience, so, I've mastered the 'sit', 'stay', 'down', 'come', 'drop it', 'leave it' and 'place' commands. I also use proper door etiquette and have good leash manners as well as accept nice strangers without jumping. Let's continue my training together with the free lifetime training classes that Mostly Mutts offers for all their adopted dogs! / My crate manners are good in the off-site training program. The trainers have found that I dont really need one and enjoy sleeping outside of it overnight. / My potty habits were good in the off-site training program, but I am having a few accidents at the shelter. Hopefully this will improve now that I have completed my HW rest period.

LIKES/DISLIKES: I love to give and receive affection—collecting snuggles and leaning in for a nice hug. It's just the best! I always enjoy it when the volunteers break out the toys at the shelter. Play time is always fun! Stretching my legs in the play yard in the off-site training program is one of my favorite parts of the day! I love having room to run and explore, and dont worry, I'll happily come right back when called. / I can't think of any dislikes, though like all dogs, I'm sure I wouldnt like it if I didnt get enough love, attention, exercise, and training.

MEDICAL: I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. My tail has been amputated, so it is no longer painful. Since my previous owner did not keep me on heartworm prevention, I came to MM heartworm positive. Thankfully, I've been treated for it and am currently getting back to my regular exercise routine. I will have my heartworm re-check in mid-December, so local adoption is best. I have moderate tartar on my teeth, so my new family should consult their vet about a dental cleaning in the future.

I'm looking for a wonderful home with a loving family that will treasure me for life! My adoption fee is $299.00, and Im located in Kennesaw, Ga.
