Meet Noah

Please read the bio in full for answers to your questions. In the event you have a question that is not covered in the bio, please email info@seniordoghaven.org. If interested in adopting, please complete an adoption application which can be found at www.seniordoghaven.org under the Adoption Process tab. Please note that because all of our dogs live in foster homes, we are unable to set up meetings with a dog unless we have a completed adoption application on file. Adoptions must be about an hour of Wilmington, DE in order for our volunteers to be able to conduct an in person home visit.

Meet Noah! The sweetest 10 year old Havanese you will ever meet. Noah came to us from a local shelter. He was dropped off there completely matted, blind and had cherry eyes. Shortly after we picked him up, he went to the groomer to get a cool new haircut, which he loved! Then it was off to the vet for a full exam. He has had surgery to fix the cherry eyes and a dental.

Noah has always been a very good boy anywhere he goes. He rides beautifully in the car and just lays down and enjoys the ride.

At home, Noah is happy and calm. His favorite thing is to snuggle on the couch or bed with his human. He is very tolerant of other dogs and co-exists nicely with the other 10 dogs in his foster home. He prefers to hang with the calmer ones though. The large active puppy makes him nervous since he can’t see. Noah is also very sweet and would be fine in a home with children (as long as they would be gentle and calm with him.)

Noah has adjusted beautifully to the home. He took a few days to map his way around and now knows where everything is. He doesn’t let being blind hold him back. He is happy to go for walks and explore with his nose.

Noah is working on housebreaking. He will use a potty pad if available to him or a belly band. Noah does not like to be confined and would prefer a home where he doesn’t have to be crated.

Noah is in early stage of kidney disease and requires a special kidney diet. He will also require eye drops for dry eye. Otherwise, Noah is a healthy, happy boy who we hope will give someone many years of happiness!
