Meet Nessa

Now, this girl is a beauty, I mean look at those markings! Say hello to Nessa!

Has this girl caught your attention? It isn't often you see a brindle and white fluffy! Let me tell ya, she is even more beautiful in person! Before we give you all the deets on this girl, here is what her foster has to say about her!

"Nessa is the kind of dog that makes heads turn. She has lovely markings and a big ole fluffy coat. Along with that, she is such a lovable and fun dog. She is the kind of dog who is always near you. She loves coming on the couch for cuddles, and will happily roll over for belly rubs. She has great house manners and is potty trained. She does great with the other dogs here and loves to play with them. She does well when meeting new people, and is very friendly. I think she would make the perfect hiking buddy. She would also be a great dog to take places with you. Nessa has this energy about her that just seems to light up a room. She is so happy and sweet that you cannot help but fall in love with her!"

Nessa came to us after she spent a few weeks in the shelter. How a beautiful girl like this ended up there, we have no idea. Whoever had her failed her, though. Not only when they let her end up in the shelter, but they also didn't keep her up to date on heart-worm prevention. She ended up being heart-worm positive and is currently undergoing treatment. Despite everything, Nessa has been the sweetest and happiest dog around while she has been with us.

Nessa is a 1.5-year-old female Border Collie mix. We are not sure what she is mixed with. She currently weighs about 48lbs, and won't get any bigger than the 50lb range. Nessa is the perfect mix of playful and calm. She adjusts to new environments quickly and would probably be a great fit for just about any family.

??To Nessa's Future Family??
-----------------------------------------

? Nessa has not been on many walks, since there aren't any walking trails near her foster. However, she has done fine on the leash when visiting the vet. She does ride well in the car but does not appreciate you leaving her even for a minute. She will bark to make sure you don't forget about her. Nessa did great when visiting the vet and was friendly with everyone she met. Nessa is an up close and personal dog and does like to give hugs. Especially when she is really excited.

? Nessa seems to have excellent house manners. She has not shown to be a big chewer, but her foster does have the house puppy proofed. She is potty trained, but NOT kennel trained. Nessa hates being left alone in a kennel/car/room. She doesn't want to be left all alone and will bark. She does eventually settle down. However, her foster just lets her have free-roam of the house with the other dogs and she is a perfect angel. At night, she has free-roam of the house and usually sleeps on the couch or tile floor.

?Nessa loves to have fun. She enjoys playing with all kinds of toys. From squeaky toys to bones, to rope toys. Her foster does not have a pool so we are unsure if she is a water dog or not. With that said, she is having a blast running through all the puddles left from the never-ending rain we are having. She does not seem to have any resource or food aggression issues.

?Nessa is sure to steal the hearts of everyone she meets. We believe she would do fine in an apartment setting if her owner was home most of the day and active. The same goes for if she were an only dog. Nessa LOVES to play with the other dogs, and it really helps get her energy out. So, it would be ideal for her family to have another playful dog in the home. It isn't a must, though, if her family were active enough. As in always going on hikes, and going on adventures. A walk here and there wouldn't be enough. Nor would someone who is gone all day.

?Nessa is being fostered around other dogs and cats and does well. The foster does not have any kids around, so we are unsure how she would do with them. Nessa loves to play with the other dogs and that is one of her favorite pass times. She really doesn't pay much attention to the cats. While she has not been around any kids, we figure she would love them. She has a very loving personality, however, they should be older. She can get quite excitable at times and would probably be too much for a toddler.
